Motif XS Sound Generation

Motif ES doubled the power of the Motif and now the mighty Motif XS6 comes along to do the same job again. The 128 voices of the XS's AWM2 Tone Generator are based on 2.670 Waveforms in the large 355 MB Wave-ROM which can be expanded by up to 1 GB of Sample-RAM for further samples. Each Voice can consist of up to eight Elements, which can be dynamically activated in the "Expanded Articulation" mode ("XA-Mode") to simulate different playing styles of acoustic instruments in a very realistic way. Use Performances to arrange up to four Voices in layers and splits over the keyboard.

Motif XS6 Sequencer

The Yamaha Motif XS6 offers massive sampling, editing and recording capabilities. Sequencing using the new screen is a doddle and the massive FX system capability of up to 8 effects running at once is superb, really enhancing the sound of your arrangement. The 16 track sequencer on the XS6 can record audio and MIDI data. Audio is handeld by a dedicated audio input at the back of the Motif's panel and effects and editing can also be applied to the recorded audio. The sound can be recorded in real-time with the sequencer and is automatically assigned as a sound when you have finished while the sequencer on the XS6 automatically sets the audio into the song.

Powerful Live Controls

The Yamaha Motif XS6 also has a very powerful arpeggio system and can almost be used like a standard keyboard with some of the best sounds on the market!  Play a chord and the 4 simultaneous arpeggiators will play around the key you are in. The Motif XS6 arpeggiators can trigger bass, drums, accompaniments and more. It is a very intelligent system which works very well for live playback. The Motif XS6 also comes with 8 sliders and 8 rotary control knobs for complete live control.

The Motif XS6 has massive computer control as well and is supplied with software for use with the computer. The transport controls all work with the supplied software from the instrument and work in harmony - for once! The XS6 is also shipped with Cubase AI. This powerful software package allows audio and MIDI recording and also incorporates control of features on the Motif XS6 with combined software. An all together powerful workstation, the XS6 is ready to be worked.

As well as computer MIDI transfer the Motif XS6 supports firewire connection for multi-track audio recording at CD quality. This really is the top of the line all in one system and highly recommended.
