Next Generation Piano Sound

The piano sound is what the CLP470PE is all about and Yamaha have worked their sound based around years of product development and customers responses enabling them to set a new standard of digital piano sound.

The CLP470 is eqipped with Yamaha 'Real Grand Expression' technology to create a playing response and expressive capability similar those of a grand piano. RGE combines three key elements: Sound, touch and pedals. The grand piano voices are created by sampling a Yamaha concert grand piano. The result is a sound that captures both the beauty of each note and the harmonised sound of a real piano.

Yamaha's Intelligent Acoustic Control function automatically adjusts the sound and the volume control makes fine adjustments to the speaker system, ensuring that you can always enjoy the utmost sound quality even at low volumes.

Range of Sounds

Yamaha have equipped the CLP470 with a whole host of sounds, perfect for an eclectic taste in music for all pianists, High quality sounds include those such as String orchestras, emulating the true response and emotion of a real string section, as well as other sounds such as classic pipe organs, jazz organs, harpsicord, and more. A superb electric piano voice sourced from the Yamaha CP1 is on hand as well as other sound options such as dual voice and split options so you can mix sounds to create many verstaile, rich and interesting sounds.

Wooden Key Piano Action

A piano can not be a truly superb piano without the right feel. Yamaha designed the Linear Graded wooden key action based around their intesiv experience of building real pianos. The result is a key touch that is simply real. The pressure, response, weighting and re-triggering of individual notes is as the pianist would expect to find only on the most expensive of grand pianos. All the white keys are wooden made with synthetic ivory keytops, taking the piano touch back to when keys were made from real ivory. This helps reduce finger slipping and looks classy.

USB Recording

Many pianists want to enjoy their playing and also share their music amongst others but this usually means a lot of messing around and incorporating other machines and products. Yamaha have equipped the CLP470PE with a simple to use, CD quality, USB audio recorder. This means anyone wanting to record their piano playing and music, whether it be for posting on the internet or creating CD's, can do so simply via the use of a USB memory stick. Simply plug one in, turn on the audio record function and play! CD quality audio is recorded direct to the USB stick and the file can easily be access through any computer or laptop for your needs.

The CLP470 also has a host of other facilties including metronome, 2 track recorder, transpose, brilliance control, effects and more.
