Roland GW-8This is the next generation of Roland's GW workstations. The GW8 offers an impressive sound selection, intelligent backing track features, USB playback of audio and MIDI, Style convertor and realtime controllers among other features. It is jam packed with everything from rock and pop to latin and dance.
Intelligent backing styles
The GW-8 has a huge selection of backing styles. Jazz, Dance, Rock, Latin, you name it it has it. It even boasts a selection of ethnic styles and ethnic sounds to suit.

Each backing style has four intros, four main patterns, and four ending progressions for you to craft your own arrangements live!
USB Functionality!
The new GW-8 now has a USB to device socket which allows playback of audio and MIDI data! It is capable of playing back Wav., MP3., Aiff. and SMF files. There is also a cool feature to cut down vocals on backing tracks called centre cancel. This will lower vocal volumes so you can perform over the top of audio tracks without spending a fortune or pre-made ones!!
Software is also included with the GW-8 to allow creation of playlists for the USB device. This means you can easily taylor play and set lists for live playing!
Superb sound engine
Roland have incorporated controller dials in the GW-8 for real-time editing of sounds. Resonance and cutoff can be adjusted in real-time along with EQ, effects levels and even the ADSR!! For a workstation/ keyboard the GW-8 goes a long way to offering pro synth features and sound.
There are over 1000 sounds in the GW-8 (including GM2) so there is a large sonic pallete available for any taste of music. Even for this kind of budget money!!
