Quality and Control
The internal sounds in the Fantom G7 are stunning but the ARX technology offers us a quality and control we have never had before. The Drums board has a 3D control system. Want to change a shell depth or mic position? See it virtually on the screen in 3D! Every control you could ever need and the sound is stunning. The ARX02 offers the same quality in the electric pianos department. The ARX Cards are highly recommended as an add-on.
TRS/XLR inputs
As well as the unbelievable array of features and sounds on the Fantom G7, the new 24 track audio recording had to have a new input stage so Roland have given us the best. The combo TRS/XLR input provides high quality Mic or Line recording and even phantom power for those with condenser mics. No corner has been chopped off here. In order for the Fantom G series to do its job Roland have also thought about the external requirements and not let us down!
The Verdict
Many Roland Fantom X owners may think this is only a small change from the their current product whilst other poduct owners will find it simply amazing. The Fantom X users however will find that spending half hour with it or with a good demo will see how much better the Fantom G7 is than the X series. In fact it is so much better I want to change my X6! This really is a top notch all in one workstation.
