From the moment you turn the E50 on you'll realise how far Roland have come in making easy to use keyboards. The black and white screen is unusual but works very well, the contrast button is just to the right and allows v bright or very dim. All the important buttons light up, choose a rhythm group select the style and the choice of 4 one touch settings gets you going right away. A new and brilliant feature is the choice to play in arranger style, organ style , guitar style ( totally unique ) or standard piano style. The organ style is going to prove very popular. Created by a professional team of international style programmers using their local musical preferences the Roland E50 contains a fresh array of 120 backing styles. All these styles are expertly mixed and mastered for a truly authentic playing experience.
Large LCD Display
The E50 keyboard incorporates a large 16 gray-scale graphic display with touchcreen for quick and simple operations. Moreover a multitude of buttons have been included on the control panels for ease of use. A large number of files including Styles, Songs, User Programs and Music Assistants can be managed easily through the onboard database, viewed through the large LCD screen. The E50 is truly opened up by this large LCD screen making it very versatile and easy to use.
DigiScore
The Roland E50 keyboard features a high quality 4-stave score display and also provides chords and lyrics display function. This is an excellent way for the starter to learn to play or to help the pro players score their music. ANything your record is automatically scored and can also be used to teach others. A clever design of the Roland E50's song system is to be able to display chords of a song/ MIDI file even if it does not contain special chord data. The notes played on the different channels are analysed and the E50 works out the appropriate chord at that time. Very cool!!
Guitar Mode
The E50 comes with Guitar Mode function which provides several down-and up-stroke patterns, realistic muting and other guitar techniques all controllable from the keyboards.
Easy Computer Connection
The Roland E50 has a USB connector which allows files (Styles, Songs, User Programs, Bmp Images, File Text) to be exchanged with PC or MAC and also provides MIDI communication. This is a great way to organize your files on the Roland E50 or simply to back up your data.
Data Storage
The E50 features a 16 MByte internal memory (Solid State Disk), Floppy Disk Drive and Memory Card Slot that supports storage devices such as PCMCIA cards.
Style Converter
The Roland E50 incorporates a style converter which is an easy and intuitive tool for creating custom Music Styles based on one of your own songs or a pre-made Standard MIDI File.
