Akai EIE I/O Interface Expander
Yes, it is called an EIE I/O, clever thinking if you ask me, and is a superb audio and MIDI interface boasting many great features that some other interfaces may well miss off the agenda.
On the front panel of the AKAI EIE there is 4 TRS inputs for conenction of microphones and instrument. All inuts have phantom power available for use with almost any mic. Akai have also mounted 2 very slick VU meters for monitoring of input levels and output levels depending on your choice. Along with each channel is the Mic/ Line selector with a gain control directly above to cover all input devices volumes without having to mess around on computer software.
The back panel of the Akai EIE opens up more nice options - a 3 port USB hub is supplied so you can use other USB devices which is a nice little touch. On the lower right is 4 insert sockets so the signal can be sent for external processing and returned back to the EIE for passing to the computer. To top it off Akai have supplied 4 outputs on the rear of the EIE for passing your output where ever you need it to go. All of this is supplied in a sturdy aluminium casing ready for the road and studio. |
